Once, there was a god of trade, thieves, & travel name Mercury. Inventor of the lyre and seen with the caduceus, it was told that he wore winged sandals as a messenger to guide and protect merchants, shepherds, gamblers, liars, and thieves.

However, one morning when Mercury happened upon a market, he found himself in the middle of a heated exchange. With an instant, Mercury disappeared and his wings torn from his feet.
We’re looking for the whereabouts of Mercury. If you know any information that can locate both he and his winged sandals, please alert the authorities. We will continue to bring you late breaking news as it arrives.
Thanks for your attention to this matter.

We’re having a bit of fun with our MarrakechCats in the workshop, can you tell?
Dreaming of another World filled with bazaars and their endless labyrinths filled with exotic textiles and spices with the hint of jasmine floating through the gardens… Beautiful lines of inspired textile design revealed a glimpse of the hidden elegant feline form within.
We’ve taken the Marrakech Cats into another World and applied them to suede. Soft and sumptuous, these one of a kind handmade journals will keep your secrets hidden. We find a complementary leather bookmark from our treasure of riches and attach it with a worn sexy metal rivet. Imagine the suppleness of the nap caressing your fingertips as they glide over to open the journal one more time…

Cultivating Your Sophisticated Style,

I’ve been working like a dog getting ready for Artsplosure designing new products… on fabric! Meanwhile, we’ve got just a few serigraphs (or pulled prints) as a result from registering our work as we print.
What’s a pulled print you ask?
A pulled print is also known as a serigraph or screen print and is a stenciling method. A serigraph must create a separate pattern for each color or blended color. Stencils can be cut from paper or film and adhered to the cloth (or the silkscreen) and areas can be blocked by masking to prevent paint to seep through. One to several shapes can be used to create the pattern design.
In my case, I use paper to help register the design onto the fabric that I’m printing. I want to ensure that the image is aligned with the parameters I’ve designed for the overall use and this can be a painstaking process. Because I have extra fine woven paper that I use for my CalligraphyPets prints and cards, I decided to have a bit of fun and use it. I love the softness of the metallic gold on the warm white paper. What a treat!

I only needed a few attempts to perfect the registration so this means I have only 3 of each available: large and small.
About the Serigraphs
Signed Unframed Large 11″ x 11″
Signed Unframed Small: 5.5″ x 5.5″
Only 3 in each series.
Each print is shipped in a protective sleeve in a bend-proof fiberboard mailer.
Ready to ship today.
I’ve made these available on ETSY

Save the date for Saturday May 21st & 22nd – We’re exhibiting at Artsplosure for the first time! Yay us! And while it seems as though it’s changed it’s venue from an exclusive juried art fair to a beer feast that happens to include art, we’d love for you to come down and see us. We’re not allowed to bring papergoods, but we’ll have plenty of other surprises.

Capitalizing on the leaf pattern, we’ve created a tiny silhouette pattern that just sings with subtlety. You have to see this in person to appreciate the sheen of this new calligraphic image.

Have a great week!

Keep Your Thoughts to Yourself
“The World is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page.” St. Augustine
What’s a better way to fill your World than with spilling your thoughts within a Moleskine Journal exquisitely protected with a beautiful, personalized cover?
We love that we can beautify your personal expression.
Journaling has now entered a new renaissance. If you’re an artist like myself, then I’m sure you’re no stranger to Julia Cameron’s “Morning Pages.” In her book The Artist’s Way, Cameron insists that free forming words without judgment long before you day begins allows your day to creatively flow with passion. According to Natalie Goldberg, talks of the importance of relaxing into the writing. The mere act of writing is physical exercise.
Dr. James Pennebaker talks of how journaling is meant to help the person writing feel better and reduce performance anxiety. In a study conducted at the University of Texas by Pennebaker, reveals that journaling can help relieve stress, thereby lowering blood pressure and increasing health. Using a journal as a means of self-expression can be a link to increased good health when examining and expressing very deep, troubling, and traumatic events.
So, when you pick up the book of blank pages, use it as an tool for self-expression utilizing mindmapping clouds, doodles, or even symbols. Forget about good handwriting, lines, spelling, punctuation, or grammar. Writing or illustrating during the journaling moments is about expression and breaking through to what is really going on inside, revealing our finest selves.

PS. This endeavor proved to agonizing as I learn the ins and out of iMovie vs QuickTimePro. It was also frustrating because the neighborhood bandwidth was painfully slow; the upload took more than 4 hours!! When I find out I’ve uploaded the wrong video… Oy! I have published this video on YouTube, however, because Chardonnay assists in his fashionable way, the inset didn’t show. Sorry I’m so stiff.

This is where you’ll find new developments whether it’s commissions, fine or functional art. You’ll get the news here first.
Thanks so much for visiting!

Bacchus (the FatCat) insisted he wear a crown -don’t ask me why. I told him that if he insists on wearing a crown, I’m adding hearts to it -he had no choice but to acquiesce. Suddenly, he wanted a sash, epaulets -I don’t think he even knows what an epaulet is- gauntlet and a cape. Go figure. The cat wants a cape, like a mouseketeer. Can you imagine Bacchus running around with the feather in his mouth, howling and tripping over his cape?
Of course, he wouldn’t listen to reason. I explained that Edna from The Incredibles wouldn’t design him a cape because they’re too dangerous. Then he reminded me of his first Holiday Season with us.
Bold and colorful, my calligraphic line takes a contemporary twist influenced by PopArt. Elegant and sophisticated, this new series will fill your abode with wit and charm.
The Blue Don: The Inaugural FatCat
Bacchus continues to expand his weight in a sassy and bold style, evolving into a bright acrylic form of color and line. When the alpha cat ages, so does his attitude. Bacchus believes he is now ‘The Blue Don.’
