Time: Friday Afternoon, 2:30pm EST phone rings: “You’re making a movie? You have a superhero? Does she need a mask?! Oh yah, count me in!”
They say when you love what you do, it’s not a job.
As a creative and artist, I’ve managed to turn my love of design into a full-time job. Problem is, our passion cup for creating spills over into the weekends and I’ve recently asked myself, “what hobbies do I have?” That was an easy answer back in high school. Today? Not so much.
I guess my answer would have to be travelling –and sleeping. Actually sleeping while travelling. I would consider a hobby that one doesn’t earn money for and up to this point, I haven’t figured out how to make money while sleeping.
However, when I hear that someone needs help in the creative department, I’m Jonnie on the spot. You’re making a movie? You have a superhero? Does she need a mask?! Oh yah, count me in!
VolcanoGirl: The Superhero Mask
So, over the course of 3 days, we had to cancel our superfun weekend plans… [insert LP record rip here] Wait! Who are we kidding? We’re a couple of creatives living on a completely different lifestyle clock than the rest of the world. Readjusting our schedule was a piece of cake. Friday afternoon we formed a strategy to get design, form, and finished mask ready for Monday morning shipment to California.
Now this, this is a hobby. If you want to read more details on how we made the leather mask, please continue to my personal blog How We Made a Leather Mask for VolcanoGirl
Have a great weekend!
